Building Australia's Future 2009 Call For Papers

2009 Building Australia

Australian Building Codes Board

Building Australia's Future 2009 International Conference

 2nd CALL FOR PAPERS

The Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB) is calling for papers for its biennial Building Australia's Future 2009 (BAF) international conference to be held on the Gold Coast from 20 – 23 September 2009.

BAF 2009 will be a combined Refereed and Non-refereed industry conference and as such the ABCB is seeking papers from both industry and academia.

Key themes of the conference, all relating to the building regulatory environment, include:

  • Climate Change;
  • Performance, innovation, and expectations of the Building Codes of Australia; and
  • Energy Efficiency.

It is expected that submissions would relate to, or be relevant to one of the conference themes as expressed above. It is desirable that papers are focussed in a way that will engage the building and construction community, convey experiential knowledge, trigger debate and assist practitioners.

Suggested topics may include such issues as: contemporary and strategic research; adapting the built environment for climate change; alternative construction practices; innovative design through performance; zero carbon impact; or the effectiveness and future of energy efficiency abatement measures.
