Use of Fire-Retardant Coatings

Project output - revised BCA provisions to remove restrictions on use of  fire retardant coatings

The use of fire retardant coatings is limited by the DTS provisions of the BCA, particularly due to the application of C1.10 (b). Also the use of fire retardant coatings within BCA DTS provisions is inconsistent between Volume One and Volume Two.  This matter was the subject of a Fire Code Reform Centre research project and recent research commissioned directly by the ABCB.
